How This Procedure Works

The V-Beam laser, or vascular laser, is a specialized treatment device crafted to treat dilated blood vessels that are present in patients with rosacea or those experiencing general redness issues. Like most other facial lasers, the V-Beam can be effectively used to remedy a whole host of skin maladies, with redness as its primary target. The pulsed-dye laser (PDL) design of the Vbeam is a reliable and relatively easy way to correct problems associated with the networks of blood vessels within the skin tissue.

The ability to colorfully distort the light waves of the V-Beam laser allows technicians to enjoy optimized control and precision during your procedure. The laser wand will be placed on the treatment area, using specified dyes to break down disrupted blood vessels that are the cause of redness and rosacea. Essentially, the previously defunct blood vessels are made to permanently retire via the beam and your body does the rest of the work by eliminating them from your skin tissue.

It’s important to note that the dyes used are not actually entering the skin tissue. They are simply there as a method for changing lightwave patterns. Patterns change, targeted blood vessels react, and your skin ends up looking evenly toned and without redness or blotchiness.

As a whole, the V-Beam laser is an ingenious concept with tried and true results that doctors have trusted for years.

Your V-Beam Experience

The V-Beam laser is a very safe and non-invasive way to treat blood vessel and capillary issues. The pulsation of the laser is relatively painless, however, mild discomfort can be felt due to the alternating sensations of hotness and coldness as the beam hits the skin. It requires no local anesthetics, and cool air is typically blown on the face during a treatment to maximize your comfort levels.

Impressively Minimal Downtime

The V-Beam is a great option for anyone experiencing issues with redness, blotchiness, rosacea, birthmarks, or other undesired variations in pigmentation. There are no scars or blisters caused by the treatment, however mild swelling, soreness, and redness can occur immediately following the procedure. These symptoms typically subside within a couple of days.

Bruising is another sometimes common side effect of the V-Beam and is fairly normal in instances where the process is done on highly concentrated treatment areas such as birthmarks. These bruises will usually heal within a day or two and are generally easy for the technician to predict in advance.

You’ll want to avoid saunas, hot tubs, or anything else that causes excessive heat for two days after your V-Beam treatment at CosmetiCare in Newport Beach. It’s also important to make sure that you use non-irritating skin care, or products without any actives such as retinoids, as it can affect your results.

Multiple V-Beam treatments are often necessary to achieve optimal results. Patients can also easily combine other facial or other cosmetic enhancement treatments with their Vbeam® procedure. We’ll work with you to schedule follow-up appointments in a way that works well with your existing schedule.
