Injectable Fillers
(Lips/Facial Wrinkles & Folds)

As we age, our faces begin to show the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement, such as smiling, chewing and squinting. The underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful begin to break down often leaving laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet or facial creases over the areas where muscle movement occurs.

But for those who may not be ready for a more permanent approach to enhancement, soft tissue injectable fillers can help to fill in these lines, creases & folds temporarily restoring skin to reveal a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance.

When injected beneath the skin, these fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face. They can also add fullness and a more sensual look to the lips. Injectable fillers can be used alone or in conjunction with other procedures.

Which Filler is Right For You?
There are many types of fillers but the most popular today include Restylane, Collagen, Juvederm, Perlane, Cosmoplast and a newer, more permanent product called ArteFill. Some of the fillers are said to be longer-lasting and more permanent than others. Your surgeon will help to determine which type of filler may be best for the areas you are looking to improve.

Botox® is another non-surgical option used to decrease frown lines between the brows, eliminate wrinkles and smooth out crows feet” that develop in the outer corners of the eyes.

Injectables are usually not sufficient for severe surface wrinkles on the face, such as vertical “lipstick lines” that sometimes form around the mouth. Instead, chemical peel, dermabrasion or another type of resurfacing technique may be recommended. These resurfacing methods can strip away the outer layers of the skin to produce a smoother appearance. You can find more information on these procedures under Surgery of the Face, within our website.

Deep folds in the face or brow caused by overactive muscles or by loose skin may be more effectively treated with surgery, such as facelift or browlift. Injectables are sometimes used in conjunction with facial procedures, however, injectables alone will not last and cannot change facial contour the way conventional surgery can.

Thousands of professionals seek Career Lifts through Non-surgical treatments and services. Many career men and women are turning to Botox®, Restylane® and other less invasive cosmetic treatments to boost their career prospects and stay competitive well into their 40s, 50s & 60s.
